Marlene P. Garza, age 70 of Muskegon, went to be with her Lord on February 22, 2016. She was born on June 7, 1945 in Muskegon, MI to Edward and Louise Groters. Marlene worked 16 years and retired from Deerfield Correctional Facility in Ionia, MI. She enjoyed puzzles, sewing, the Detroit Tigers, and food. She had a strong faith, and loved her grandkids and her fur child, Buddy. Marlene is survived by her children, Mindy Garza, and Anthony (Renea) Garza; her grandchildren, Diamond Rios, David Garza, and Jeshrun Garza; her sister, Ione Keur; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Seth Garza; and her sister, Norma Cole. There will be a memorial service for Marlene on March 5, 2016 at 2pm at First Christian Church; 2755 Holton Rd in Muskegon. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Graham. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
