Maxine Bernica Berry age 90 went home to be with her Lord on November 9, 2011. Maxine was born on January 6, 1921 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Max and Eleanor (Smith) Wells. She married Charles E. Berry on April 7, 1940 in Pontiac, Michigan and he preceded her in death on August 2, 1987. Maxine is survived by two sons, Dennis Berry of Muskegon and Alan (Donna) Berry of Virginia; three daughters, Connie (Bob) Albright, of Lowell, Cathy (Robert) Thompson, of Spring Lake and Valerie (Pat) Shank of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lenore (Dwayne) Monroe, of Iowa. Along with her husband and parents, Maxine was also preceded in death by a son, Steve Berry; brother, Robert Wells; and sister, Barbara Vanderlind. Maxine loved working with children in Awana and Child Evangelism. She helped out at the Muskegon Rescue Mission. She also enjoyed working in arts and crafts. Funeral services for Maxine will be held at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Rudd officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
