

Ronald J. Starks, Jr., age 57, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Ronald was born on July 21, 1957 in Muskegon to parents Ronald and Clara (Rodriguez) Starks, Sr. Ronald earned his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and enjoyed continuing his education. He worked at Knoll for 24 years. When Ronald was not working, he enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, growing roses, watching and playing sports, and talking politics. He especially enjoyed hockey; he was always taking the family to see the Lumberjacks play. He was also a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Blackhawks. More than anything, he loved his grandsons. Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Clara Starks; daughter, Amy (Jerry) Anderson; grandsons: Conner and Spencer; sisters: Ida Wheeler and Renna Staelens; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one great-great nephew; many more extended family members and special friend, Linda Emelander. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald J. Starks, Sr.; baby sister, Donna Benka; lifelong friend, and mother of his daughter, Mary Kathleen Johnson. A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon). The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be given to Harbor Hospice or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in Ronald’s name.
