Ruth E. Chapman

Ruth Estelle Chapman was called home June 28th 2020 surrounded by her family in Muskegon Michigan. She was born in Hamilton, Alabama on December 11, 1934 to Ella (Tice) and Artis E. Crowe, were she lived until moving to Zion, Illinois in 1954. Zion is where Ruth met William Chapman; they were married November 17, 1956 and remained together for 56 years until his passing in November 2012. Ruth then moved from her long term home in Zion to Muskegon, Michigan in 2016 to live her Daughter Michelle and her family to enjoy the remainder of her life.

Ruth worked hard her entire life; her work history includes Johnson Motors (OMC Waukegan) and Whiteside Draperies (Zion Curtain Factory). Ruth unselfishly dedicated her life to the loving and caring of her friends and family.

She is survived by her three children Charles Chapman, Zion, Illinois, Billie Marie (Jeff) Herman, Zion, Illinois, Michelle Copen, Muskegon, Michigan, Five Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren and her brother Elton (Glenda) Crowe of Beach park, Illinois and their four Sons, and their children all of which she loved dearly. Ruth also has many surviving relatives from her husband’s side including his Brother Ronald Chapman and Sister Karen (Arnold) Barnette and her sister in-law Lois Chapman and many nieces and nephews also greatly loved by Ruth.
