Ruth L. Thompson, age 92 of Muskegon, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015. She was born June 10, 1922 in Hart, MI. The former Ruth Varekos married John N. Thompson on May 8, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1977. She worked for many years at the Hume Home as a resident care worker. Ruth attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church and held office for the Lithuanian Club. She loved playing bingo, shopping, and spending time with family. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, John Hill; brother, Raymond Varekos; and sister, Eleanor Parks. She is survived by her 2 sons, Marshall Thompson of Norton Shores, and John (Joni) Thompson of Muskegon; 2 daughters, Mary (Roy) Valentine of Muskegon, and Jaclyn (Edward) Hill of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Brian, Rebecca, Joseph, Julie, Jodie, Ruthie, Faith, and Chris; great grandchildren, Patrick, Elaina, Alec, Samantha, Nathan, Luke, Whitney, Violet, Lilah, Brittany, Autumn, Chance, and Tyler; and her beloved cat “Macy”. A graveside service will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11am.
