

Sharon Lynn McMahon, 77, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on March 12, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. Sharon was born on May 6, 1946 to James and Cecelia Grant in Muskegon, Michigan.
Sharon was a graduate of Muskegon Heights High School and she went on to work for the Muskegon Public School system, for over 29 years, as the head lunch lady for Bunker Elementary & Junior High. She married her love, James “Jim” McMahon, in 1964 and the couple spent 60 wonderful years together. In those 60 years their family grew by 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Sharon adored her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, when her house was packed full of family and laughs. In the summer months you could find Sharon relaxing with her family at their cabin on Loon Lake in Irons, Michigan. In her free time she enjoyed going to the casino, bowling, playing bingo, and embroidering pillow cases. Sharon was a feisty, opinionated, loving, and selfless woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sharon was preceded in death by: parents, James and Cecelia Grant; brothers, James Grant Jr., and Thomas Grant.
Sharon is survived by: husband, Jim L. McMahon; children, Lori Bostrom, Jim (Kathy) McMahon, and Tom (Kim) McMahon; grandchildren, Cecelia (John) Gaffney, Sarah (Cody) Pospisil, Tommy (Taylor) McMahon, Megan Bostrom, Jimmy McMahon (Lauren Kuschinsky), Jesse McMahon, and Hannah Bostrom; great grandchild, Lily Gaffney; sister, Terri Puisis; as well as, several nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and special friends.
A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442, on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
