Shirley was born April 18, 1931, the daughter of Lawrence and Maude Comstock. She married Henry Cunningham on August 7, 1948. Together they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage until his death in 1999. She worked as a cook for Holton Public Schools for many years. Shirley was a member of the VFW Post 3195, The Holton American Legion, Holton United Methodist Church, Friends of the Holton Library, Holton Historical Society, Helping Hands, and the Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, crocheting, baking, and her birds. She was a fun loving, independent, caring woman who will be deeply missed.
Shirley is survived by: her children, Sheryl (Dennis) Dykstra, Henry Cunningham Jr., Kevin (Rhonda) Cunningham, and April (Mike) Stamper; grandchildren, Dustin (Sarah), Gemmie (Chuck), Josh, Eric (Haley), Scott, Garet, Kassidy (Joe Ingalls), Jessie (Cindy), Logan, and Amber; 21 great-grandchildren;
2 great-great grandchildren; and several siblings, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; grandson, Malcholm; and several siblings.
A Celebration of Life Open House will take place October 30th, 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Holton United Methodist Church.
