

He was born November 21, 1925 in Muskegon to Benjamin and Violet (Barnhard) Funderburg. He lived in Muskegon all of his life. He served his country during World War II from 1944 to 1946 in the U.S. Army, Company D, 353rd Infantry, 89th Division. He was employed at Brunswick Corporation for 42 years until his retirement in 1988. While at Brunswick, he met his wife, Eva Marie Davison. They were married on November 22, 1952 in Muskegon. Wayne attended Hope Reformed Church. Wayne was an avid bowler for many years bowling on Brunswick-sponsored teams and later in Senior Leagues with his wife. He loved baseball and those who knew him would say he was possibly the biggest Tiger fan ever! He enjoyed music, walking, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family.
He is survived by 2 sons, Benjamin Funderburg of Muskegon and Steven (MaryLou) Funderburg of Coopersville;
2 daughters, Ginger Martinez and Susan Jagnecki, both of Muskegon;
9 grandchildren, Anthony Funderburg, Jack and Bryon Funderburg, Kelly Andry, Vincent and Eva Martinez, Jason, Shannon, Corey Jagnecki;
14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson;
Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eve, and brothers Raymond, Lyle and Robert Funderburg, grandsons Benjamin Funderburg and Graham Jagnecki and a great granddaughter.
A memorial service will be Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 11:00am at Hope Reformed Church, 1878 Evanston Avenue in Muskegon. Rev. Steven Hyma will be officiating. Interment is at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Faith. Memorial contributions can be made to Christian Care Senior Care Resident Care Fund or Hope Reformed Church.
