Our cherished Cassandra left our world too soon in an unexpected and tragic car accident on May 30, 2025. She was a daughter, mother, niece, and friend to many. We all have incredible, unfathomable sorrow as Cassie had an unforgettable presence. She was a wonderful young woman and a beloved, vital part of our family. Her passing leaves a profound void especially for her six-year-old daughter Emmie and mother Cathy.
Cassie was born in Nanaimo, B.C. to parents Cathy Del Fabro and Norman Siedel. She was predeceased by her sister, Rebecca. As her family/friend group: mother Cathy, father Norm, Great Aunt Bonnie, Aunt Linda, Uncle Cory, “Aunt” Shell, Mel, and Jessica, we will dedicate ourselves to help Kal raise Cassie’s amazing daughter and provide her with her mother’s memory as she grows.
Cassie was a true ‘Island Girl’, choosing Vancouver Island as her home. She spent most of her early schooling in Victoria and Sidney, then settled in Nanaimo close to her mom Cathy and grandparents. She absolutely loved the Island life: especially the outdoor beauty with its opportunities for hiking, camping and mushroom picking. Being outdoors was her ‘happy place’, and often, she would take Emmie and go exploring for the day, posting photos on Facebook of their adventures. Emmie was the centre of her universe, and motherhood was integral in who she saw herself to be, where she belonged, and who she would become.
Cassie was a conveyancer; a profession she enjoyed at Johnson, Franklin & Bishop in Nanaimo. She truly enjoyed interacting with and helping her clients purchase their dream homes,
Given who Cassie was and what she would have wanted a gathering to remember her will be small and private, as well as informal. She will be laid to rest in the summer of 2026 beside her grandparents and sister in Liscombe, Nova Scotia.
