

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Christopher “Chris” Tickell after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Chris passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec 30th, 2023, at the Palliative Care unit at NRGH.
Chris was born and raised in Nanaimo where he eventually met his wife (Best friend/love), Gwynneth “Gwen”, before getting married and beginning to raise a family together in Nanaimo.
Chris enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting, hockey, geocaching, umpiring and coaching fastball games and bowling with the IOF.
Chris was an active member of the Cranberry Volunteer Fire Department in South Wellington for nearly 40 years, as well as volunteering his time with the IOF, Beavers, Cubs & Scouts.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, William and Marguerite Tickell.
Chris is survived by his wife Gwynneth, daughter Pamela, sons Brian (Taryn) and Kevin (Brittany); grandchildren Ryder, Taylor, Tyler, Sam, Dilyn, Skyler, Brayden, Kasen, Luca, and Adalynn; brother Rob (Karen); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on April 13th, 2024, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 256 from 1pm-4pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
