It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Joan Burrows. Born November 13, 1943, in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, she passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2023 in Nanaimo, B.C.
Diane was a caring and loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend, who was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Edith Perry and her special family pet Jake. Diane leaves behind her loving husband George, her children Francois, Monica and Robbie, her grandchildren Bronwyn, Rhys and Connor, and her niece and nephew Lisa and Martin.
Diane was an exceptional person that had great determination to overcome what life had put in her path. She graduated high school in England and moved to Canada with her Mother and son after her first husband died tragically.
While raising three children she somehow ran a business with George for over 30 years. Diane had a passion for gardening, she tirelessly maintained and improved her garden at the family home. She enjoyed travelling, going boating and camping, along her coffee. Her passions were arts and crafts; she would make beautiful floral and wreath arrangements for family and friends. In her younger years she rode horses and was an avid swimmer in England.
The family would like to give a special thanks to everyone at Eden Gardens for their caring and compassion, while taking care of Diane after she was diagnosed with dementia.
The family asks in lieu of flowers for a donation to made to either Eden Gardens or the heart and stroke foundation.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
