Earle "Coup" William Couper

Earle, also known as “Coup” passed away peacefully Friday March 14 in Nanaimo B.C. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Florence; Earle is survived by his sister Marilyn (Larry) Schroeder and brother Geoffrey (Michelle) Couper, children Jerilyn and Evan (Melissa), and grandchildren Fable, Grayson and Ellie.

Earle had a passion for sports and excelled in a journalism career with several newspapers spanning 41 years and retired as the Sports Editor and Photographer for the Comox Valley Record in 2017. Earle made friends easily with his dry humour and quick wit, both of which seemed to be limitless. Earle’s dedication to his career made everlasting connections with those involved in the sports community. Special thanks to Gerry and Penny Fairbrother for all their help while Earle was hospitalized. Thank you to Earle’s cousin Anna (Harvey) for being with family on Earle’s last day.
