Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Olga; daughter Kathleen; son Walter (Charlotte); step-grandchildren Danielle and Evan; brother-in-law John Nowik (Diana); as well as extended family.
In 1950, George began his teaching career. He taught in many different places including Cole Harbour, Holberg, Powell River, and many schools in the North Vancouver School District. His students will remember him as a very competent, caring and kind teacher.
A Traditional Catholic Latin Requiem Mass will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Chapel, 4334 Jingle Pot Road, Nanaimo, with Father Gerard Rusak officiating. Interment to follow service at Hornby Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.
