Harvey Clarence Russwurm

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of beloved husband, Harvey Clarence Russwurm. Harvey died on May 31, 2025, in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Harvey us survived by best friend and wife of 47 years Yvonne. Also, by son Angelo and daughter Michelle; brothers Harold (Peg), Robert (Linda), Laverne and sisters Elaine (Gerald) and Audrey.

Harvey was predeceased by his parents Edgar and Barbara Russwurm; by his son Shawn, sister Marlene and brothers Ervin, George and Leonard.

Harvey was born in Hanover in 1945. While in Ontario, Harvey worked as a trucking broker for Grein's Furniture Transport where he was well respected by his co-workers and clients on his routes around Ontario. After marrying Yvonne Bohnert in 1978, he spent several more years at Grein's before he and Yvonne headed west to Vancouver Island. They settled in Courtenay where they owned and operated a popular convenience store close to Kitty Coleman & Seal Bay Parks in Comox. They retired in 2002 to Parksville where they lived until 2014 and then on to Nanaimo. Harvey was an avid floor curler for many years, curling with many friends at Oceanside and Nanoose Floor Curling Clubs.

Harvey will be missed by a large extended family and circle of friends in BC and Ontario.
