Before we moved to Nanaimo from Richmond a few years ago we’d always start our boating holiday in Nanaimo.  Cruising the channel we’d see a classic looking boat with a cute Bimini of green and white strips.  We both wondered the ‘story’ of the people that owned her because of her name. Jax  & Diggs. Our friends Gord & Darlene Weir tied up their boat just down from them. We went to a ‘happy hour’ one evening and guess who was there! Jax and Diggs! We struck up a fabulous friendship with them, becoming part of our ‘bubblets’ during COVID. Jax you will be missed so much! Keep whistling and dancing until we meet again! You’ll never leave our hearts! ❤️

FAMILY IS MUCH MORE THAN A WORD,
 IT IS A FEELING WARMTH AND LOVE. MEMORIES OF OUR FRIEND JAX
We offer our deepest condolances to Diggs, there's no words to describve the pain you must be feeling and we can only offer our support as your friends..  Your obituary brought back not only tears but many memories, some we would like to share now,  it started way back with dinner's at the Black Bear Pub, many "Canada Day "b.b.q's at your home, breakfast at Ricky's, of course celebrations of many kinds at the golf club, and each time Jax added her unique flair of personality, opinions, and her love of dancing.  For me personally I always remember getting the..oh you silly boy.. than in later times it became...oh you STUPID boy a clear sign of a lasting friendship.  We would like to leave you with a song that migt help a little, its one of Willie Nelson's (surprise!!) its called..SOMETHING YOU GET THROUGH...its a heartfelt message about losing someone you love.  Hope you can find time to listen to.

Our Darling Diggs, 

We too are broken-hearted to lose our beautiful Jacqui.  A loving soul that left us much too soon. The one thing we know, she is organizing a dance and has all the angels laughing and signing up to do her bidding. 

So many wonderful memories of our little pixie. Every time we hear a whistle we immediately think of Jax. Her perfect tone and love of music, her mischievous little smile, and her love of life were contagious. The Bubblets will miss you forever sweety.

Dear Diggs, 
We had the great pleasure of meeting you and Jax for the first time on a cruise some years ago.  We were immediately drawn to Jax because of her spirited and fun personality.  She really was an elegant lady who seemed forever young.  We send you our deepest condolences and will always remember her with fondness.

Lynne & Dave Yule hosted a BBQ one beautiful summer evening and invited a group of people who knew them but not the others.  That gathering was the start of a long friendship for us all.  That is where we met Jax & Diggs.  It became known as the Friday Pub Night group.  Jax and Diggs were newly married.  We were honoured to be invited to share their first anniversary together.   Later on Jax, Penny, Laverna and I formed a golf team for NGC's women's night.  Oh dear, Jax was new to golf and under the coaching and guidance of Diggs, who often joined us as her caddie.  Let's just say, Jax had a challenge staying focused.  She was much more interested in socializing and having fun.  How I treasure all these memories.  Jax was always up for a party and a good time.  She knew how to live life to the very fullest.  We will miss you, dear Jax, but know you are now dancing (and drinking red wine) in Heaven.

Our chance meeting of Jax (and Diggs) at Townsite Marina was serendipitous to say the least.  We felt an immediate connection which led to a friendship that included sharing dock parties, lots of laughs, great food and wine (both on and off the water).  We soon developed a circle of "dock friends" that, when Covid-19 hit,  was dubbed "the bubblets".  We will always remember Jax's bubbly laugh, whistling as she walked along the docks, her singing and her crazy quips in her Lancashire dialect.  How many times we would retort, "translation please".  We will miss the fun that we had together, Jax's big smile and her even bigger heart.   It sounds like a cliché but we only wish we had met her sooner...much sooner.
Diggs, as you know, we treasure your friendship and will always be nearby to keep your spirits up.  The aft deck of "JAX & DIGGS" will always be remembered as Jax's happy place.
