It is with sadness we announce Ann’s peaceful death on April 25, 2025 at the age of 92.
Ann was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan on November 30, 1932. This is where she grew up and met the love of her life, Arthur James Botterill, and got married March 22,1950. Ann and Art recently celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary.
Art and Ann had four children Laurie, Richard, Scott and Allison. They also enjoyed spending time with their best of friends Cal and Ann Nichols who also celebrated their wedding anniversary on the same day and very often celebrated together. Ann enjoyed spending time with her sisters, Donna and Gay and brother Mac and wife Janet, lots of laughs and good times & great memories. Ann was especially proud of herself for returning to school at the age of 52 and obtaining her Horticultural degree on June 8, 1984. We were all so proud of her. She travelled to Japan with the college - a trip that she cherished. Truly a keen gardener and she loved to be in the garden. This is where she was most happy and could think clearly.
Ann was truly a fighter in life as she survived many different types of cancer and all the treatments, which truly amazed her family and friends.
Ann is survived by her loving husband Art (96) who is comfortably living at Kiwanis Village in Nanaimo, her son Laurie (Gail, deceased), daughter Allison, and her brother Mac (Janet).
Ann was predeceased by her dear sons, Richard and Scott, daughter-in-law Gail, and her sisters Donna and Gay.
Ann will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kathleen (Lee), Paul (Dana), Holly, Allan, Gary (Natalie), Meghan (Stan) and Breanne (Andy) and many great-grandchildren: Treton, Madelyn, Emiley, Hannah, Michael, Carter, Nolan, Luka, Henry, Lada, Alden, Ethan, Pierce, Bence, Wilce and great-great-grandchildren: Abigail & Arthur.
Special recognition is extended to her grand-daughter Meghan, whose unwavering loving care of her Nana was truly appreciated. Meghan was Ann’s confidant, and she provided enormous support and care with love to her Nana over the years, and she will be truly missed.
Ann also cherished and appreciated her special friends Grace and Megs, and care workers Jennifer and Susie at the Kiwanis Village.
You are loved and missed beyond any words and never forgotten. xo
A private gathering will be held at a future date.
