

Josephine passed away peacefully at the age of 85 at Malaspina Gardens Care Residence in Nanaimo, BC on Feb. 17, 2017. Josephine was born in Edmonton, AB and spent most of her life there. She was a 1952 Graduate in Household Economics from the University of Alberta, and worked as a dietician at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for 10 years before staying home to raise her family. Josephine was an active long time member in the Anglican Church Women (ACW) where she enjoyed numerous friendships and good times together. In 2010 she moved to Nanaimo, BC for the milder climate. She spent five years at Origin at Longwood Senior’s Residence taking part in many enjoyable activities until her health declined in 2015. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Malaspina Gardens Care Residence for the loving care they provided to Josephine over the past 16 months.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband Hamilton (2008). She is survived by her son James and daughter Maureen (Adrian) of Edmonton; daughter Kathleen (Mark) and two much loved grandsons Devon & Conal of Nanaimo. Cremation has taken place. As per Josephine's wishes, a memorial service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 11111 - 57 Avenue NW, Edmonton on March 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements under the direction of First Memorial Funeral Services, Nanaimo, BC.
