Margaret Joan Marchand

A wife, a mother, a sister and Nana and mother-in-law

It’s with Deep sadness that we share the passing of our mom, Joan Marchand, who was born August 6, 1936 in Victoria BC.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Don Marchand, her children, Donna Henschell, Deborah Weisbrod, Andrew Marchand, and Kathy Meigs.

Her grandchildren Ryan Henschell, Dale Henschell, Amanda Weisbrod, Vivian Weisbrod, Krista Weisbrod, Kolton Marchand. Her great grandchildren Devon Hudson, and Hayden.

Our mom was a very active member of the Kinette’s club both in Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, and Fort McMurray.

She was very active in all of our lives whether it was taking us back-and-forth to figure skating to the horse club or to hockey. She always did it with a smile on her face. She encouraged us all to be who we could be and to do everything we wanted to do in our lives.

In her later life, they moved to Nanaimo, BC to be closer to family where she enjoyed looking out over the ocean and many bus trips with her friends from Nanaimo Seniors Village.

She loved our family, gatherings and sharing many, many meals and glasses of wine and stories.

Mom, you are missed by every person you met and everyone’s lives that you touched.
