Patricia Marie (Guest) Movold, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 79, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatitis.
Born on October 26, 1945, in St. Boniface, Manitoba, and raised in Westlock and Edmonton, Alberta. Pat married the love of her life, Roger, in 1966. Together, they raised their family in Hudson’s Hope, BC, and later lived in Surrey before retiring in Nanaimo. After retirement, Pat and Roger traveled the world as much as they could before his passing in 2016.
Pat lived a life defined by love, kindness, honesty, quick wit, and quiet strength. She was the heart of her family—always putting others first and creating a home filled with laughter, homemade cookies, and the warmth of open arms.
As a mother, she nurtured with patience and wisdom, raising her children with unwavering love and support. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she brought endless joy, warmth, and stories that will be treasured for generations. Her legacy is woven into the lives of all she touched—a legacy of integrity, compassion, and deep devotion to family.
Pat often said she wanted to be remembered as an honest person who loved her family above all else—and as someone who made a difference. She will be remembered that way, and so much more. In addition to her family and traveling, Pat found joy in reading, playing Scrabble, listening to music, watching Jeopardy!, and spending time with her cats.
She leaves behind her loving children: Dawn (Jan), Bill (Deanna), and Derek (Lindsay); her cherished grandchildren: Bryan (Kyra), Marissa (Kyle), Colin (Kaitlin), Alex (Anika), and Makena; and her two precious great-grandchildren: Jesse and Lucy. Pat also leaves behind her siblings, Rick and Barb, and their families.
She is now reunited in peace with those who went before her: her true love, Roger; her parents, Allan and Lillian; and her beloved Oma.
Though she is no longer with us in person, Pat’s love will continue to guide and inspire. Her presence will forever remain in our hearts.
