He is predeceased by his father, mother, stepmother (Blanche) and partner Sandra Farr. He is survived by brothers Dean (Ruth), twin brother Ralph (Joanne d. 2005), and Wayne (Hazel), sons Dean and Daryl (Marj), five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Ray worked for CP Rail, TransCanada Pipeline, the RCMP, and as a corrections and probation officer. He was an avid gardener, cook and wine-maker.
The family wishes to thank Ray’s recent caregivers – Coastal Health Community nursing staff, Nanaimo Regional hospital emergency, ward 6, and palliative staff. Your patient, timely and kind care was exemplary. The caring of neighbors and friends and the fellowship of the Nanoose Garden club were lifelines for Ray. A celebration of Ray’s life will occur at Ray’s home on Feb 1, 2020.
