Richard (Ritchie) passed peacefully at the palliative care unit in his home town of Nanaimo, B.C. on August 5, 2021 at the age of 74. Predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Jean Calverley, and brother, Roy.
Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alicia; daughter, Brenda; son, Michael (Tracy); and his only grandson, Cameron. As well as his sister, Lynda Gosling (Harold); brothers, Robert and Thomas Calverley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Richard worked for Air Liquide Canada for 40 years, which he retired from in 2012. He loved to play fastball in his younger years, to be in his boat fishing at China Creek, and camping and spending time with his family.
At Richard’s request, there will be no ceremony. The family would like to thank the excellent staff at NRGH palliative care unit. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NRGH palliative care unit in Richard’s name.
