Robert Zver

Robert passed from a very short battle with cancer.

Robert Zver was born and raised in Nanaimo, BC and spent his entire life in this beautiful town. Robert is survived by his three siblings Mary LaBonte (Mark), Niece Camille (Brendan),Great Niece Maryn, Great Niece Roslyn, Great Nephew Finnan, Nephew Blake (Kyla) Great Niece Colby, Brother Frank Zver (Joanne), Nephews Kyle, Jake (Sarah), Sister Diane Bunnah (Norm), Niece Tonia (Andrew), Great Nieces Reese, Marlowe, Niece Samantha (CJ).

Robert was predeceased by his wonderful parents Frank and Mary Zver.

Robert worked at School District 68, Cupe 606 combined for over 33 years. He retired as President of Cupe 606 in 2021. Robert volunteered for United Way for many years as well.

Robert lived life to the fullest. He loved travelling, spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed getting together with friends to watch Nascar and football and he got into more golf in his retirement. He truly loved his family and helping others. He always had a big smile on his face and made genuine conversations with people. Rob was great at listening and making you feel that you mattered. Anytime he could help out he would. He wore his heart on his sleeve and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was an amazing story teller, and could remember things from 40 years ago and quote it word for word. He truly was a special human. Rob was taken too soon and would have loved to enjoy more time traveling, relaxing, and sharing special moments with family and friends. Rob holds a special place in our hearts and we will cherish all the wonderful memories we made throughout his journey.

We would like to thank the wonderful Doctors and Nurses at NRGH and special Thanks to Dr. MacGillvary for making Rob feel comfortable during his final days, and passing peacefully. They did a great job with Rob and helping our family during this hard time.

There will be a celebration of life for Rob, Saturday March 9 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 256, 1630 E Wellington Rd, Nanaimo. From 3:30-7:30 PM
