William Thomas Gannon

We sadly announce the passing of our loving father and grandfather on Jan 4, 2026. Predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Jackie and his mother Dorothy (Dodo), father Thomas (Jiggs) and sisters Shirley and Colleen. Bill is survived by his daughters Nicole (Richard) Johnson and Deanne Boylan and his grandchildren Trey, Karli, James and Sam. Bothers George (Janice) Gannon and Gordon (Lin) Gannon and sisters Dianne Davies, Joy Oleynick and Linda (Gord) Benner along with numerous nieces and nephews, including a special bond with his nephew Chris.

Beneath our Dad’s gruff exterior was a generous, soft and loving heart. He was a man who was not afraid to show his emotions; tears of joy for our biggest triumphs and tears of sadness for life’s greatest heartaches. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, schools and sports teams – sometimes ‘volunteered’ for tasks by his daughters who thought he could build or fix anything! Over the years, he could often be found with Jackie supporting his favourite people at soccer, softball, hockey, lacrosse and gymnastics. He was a loyal and constant fan.

We wish to thank the emergency services and staff at the ER of NRGH, in particular Dr Laura Johnson.

There will be no service by request but please have a beer and a game of keno to remember Bill.
