Amelia Margaret Maniaci Zerilli was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 25th, 1925. She lived in New York City and grew up through the depression years. As a young woman she worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City. Amelia began volunteering her time at an early age at the USO Hospital in Greenwich Village taking care of soldiers that had returned from the war.
She married Norman T Zerilli in 1953. She was a loyal wife and the loving mother of three daughters. The family moved to Naples, Florida in 1970 and the beach became her new home.
Her passion and peace was walking on the white sugar sand coastline, enjoying many days of sunshine and amazing sunsets over the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
She worked at First National Bank on 5th Avenue in Naples until retirement. She volunteered at Naples Public Library on Central Avenue, well into her 80’s.
Amelia was exceptionally bright, funny and unbelievably kind. She accepted all types of people and gave her heart openly. As daughters we were blessed to have her as our Mom.
Amelia passed away peacefully on March 23rd, 2017 at her home in Boca Raton, Florida surrounded by her devoted daughters.
Amelia is survived by daughters Martina Pitts, Julianne Zerilli (husband Thomas Durkee) and Gabrielle Jo Turinski (husband William Turinski).
