Arnie was raised in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of eight children, born to a streetcar driver and a homemaker. His family lived in a close-knit neighborhood of immigrants that filled him with fond memories of a community where everyone looked after one another. His reflections of these times displayed what he valued and exhibited throughout his life: kindness and generosity of spirit.
In 1955, Arnie was a member of the first graduating class of Mendel Preparatory Catholic High School. While there, he proved to be an outstanding athlete and excelled at football. Those skills earned him a full scholarship to University of South Carolina, his first plane ride, and a newly-discovered love for southern hospitality.
As time went on, Arnie entered the trades and became an electrician like his brothers. This meant working jobs in cold Chicago winters and travelling to the desert of California to earn a living and raise his young family. Hard work leads to better opportunities and Arnie found those too.
Forty-three years ago, Arnie met his bride, Toni. Together they moved from the Chicago suburbs to the Florida sunshine. Arnie then took on management positions of several condominium buildings in the Naples/Marco Island area. He enjoyed this work well into his 70s. Arnie Wynn could always be counted on for his kindness to friends and family, a big smile, and his larger-than-life laugh.
Survived by his wife, Toni Wynn; his daughter, Myra Wynn; and his step-children, Rece Wheeler and Jada Shigley.
Preceded in death by his sons, Joseph Wynn and Daniel Wynn.
