C. Gregg Thompson of Naples, Florida passed away on December 4, 2016. He was born in Elkhurst, West Virginia on January 3, 1916. He graduated from Penn State University in 1937. He was married to Edna Byers Thompson for 51 years. His wife pre-deceased him in 1991. Mr. Thompson was a captain in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He was an executive with IBM from 1937 to 1943 and again from 1946 to 1973. He and his wife lived in Greenwich, Connecticut until 1973 when he retired and moved to Naples. He was a past member of the Naples Yacht Club and the Royal Poinciana Golf Club. For many years he was a volunteer at the Naples Community Hospital and served on both the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Bioethics Committee for 3 years. He is survived by his daughter, Martha Wallau and his son-in-law, Alex Wallau, who reside in New York City.
