Dian Lane, age 66 of Bonita Springs, Florida passed away peacefully at Naples Community Hospital North on July 27th, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. She is forever in our hearts. Her voice, her opinions, her laughter and advice will never be forgotten.
Dian was a cherished sister, daughter, mother, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lorraine and George Kirschmeier, and her beloved sisters, Elaine K. West and Susan Pollina.
Dian was born March 7th, 1951 in Parkchester, the Bronx. She was a bold, adventurous, and fun-loving child. In 1967, she moved with her mother and sisters to the Sunnyside neighborhood of Staten Island, New York. She attended Port Richmond High School. In 1971, Dian began a career as a teller at Scotiabank, and later worked her way up to Reconciliation Supervisor and Foreign Exchange Trader. It was at Scotiabank that she met her former husband and dear friend, Lawrence Lane. Together they raised a family in Monmouth County New Jersey, which includes their son Michael George Lane and niece Tara Skeen Carhuaz, whom she raised as her own daughter. In 1986, Dian decided to resign from her position at Scotiabank so she could dedicate more time to her family. When she resumed her career, she joined the staff of Mack Morris Realty in Holmdel, NJ as an Administrative Assistant. Dian had many different responsibilities that helped make Mack Morris run smoothly. She always went above and beyond, no matter who she was helping; but her job did not stop there. Dian was a constant support to anyone that needed it. Whether it be for information, advice, or even a recipe.
Dian lived her life to the fullest. In her free time, Dian enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and friends, traveling the world, cooking, listening to music, playing Scrabble, and rooting for her favorite sports teams (the NY Giants and the NY Yankees). Dian was generous, loyal, and compassionate to anyone that entered her life. She made her mark on this world volunteering for many charitable organizations, such as St. Vincent de Paul Society, Big Brother Big Sisters of America, ASPCA, Habitat for Humanity, and The Shelter for Abused Women and Children.
In 2006, Dian moved to Bonita Springs. She dearly loved her adopted home town and community, relishing the warm weather and the significant friendships that she made.
Dian is survived by her son Michael and his wife Kristin; her niece Tara and husband Joel, and step-daughter Ariana; her niece Alison Weeks and husband Paul, and her great-nephews Liam and Gabriel Weeks; her niece Victoria Pollina and nephew John P. Pollina.
There will be a Memorial Service for Dian at Hodges Funeral Home, Naples in the “Hope Chapel” at 2:30 p.m. on August 12th, 2017.
