Elizabeth (Betty) Lackey was born on March 7, 1912 and passed away on November 22, 2010. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Homer Clarkson Lackey, and her son Robert Shields Lackey. Betty is survived by her granddaughter Courtney Robinson and husband Steve, great granddaughters Bethany Brooke Robinson and Anna Grace Robinson, all of Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter Elise Kitchens and husband Kevin of Houston, Texas; granddaugther Sara Lackey of Dallas, Texas; and brother-in-law Harry Lackey and wife Helen. Betty enjoyed a long and healthy life, living in Pennsylvania and Detroit prior to settling in Hilton Head, South Carolina and then retiring to Naples, Florida. Betty, along with her husband Homer, enjoyed traveling the world, including two periods of living in Greece during Homer's days in the steel industry and then helping to run the American Farm School in Thessaloniki. Betty was an avid golfer, a fierce bridge player and loved to entertain. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, December 11th at the Care Center in Bentley Village (on the southbound side of Highway 41 south of Bonita Beach Road.)
