Elton was born in Herkimer, NY on May 24, 1927, the son of the late Ralph and Minnie (Dievendorf) Smith. He was educated in Herkimer schools then enlisted in the Navy. Elton married the former Jo-Ann Foisy on May 30, 1952 and they shared 69 years of marriage.
Elton retired from Univac after 27 years of service and relocated to Naples, FL in 1980.
Elton is survived by his loving wife Jo-Ann, his daughter Connie (Mark) Johnson, his son Dan (Robin) Smith, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his beloved daughters Sandy Smith and Cindy Smith and two brothers.
Funeral Services were held in Naples on December 2, 2021.
