

Freddy Ernest King of Naples, FL, passed away on March 3rd, 2022.
He was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on July 26th, 1934, to Earnest H. King and Ana Dora King-Landivar.
In his early childhood years, Freddy grew up in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and later moved with his family to the Panama Canal Zone. Freddy as a young boy, loved to play baseball. So when he returned to Bolivia as a teenager, he introduced the game of baseball to his fellow classmates at La Salle Catholic School in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
After High School, he came to the U.S. and attended the University of Miami for one year. Then he was drafted into the U.S. Army on March 15th, 1957, later re-enlisting in 1959.
While in the U.S. Army and stationed in the Panama Canal Zone, Freddy met the love of his life and married Ana Carmen Santander on April 17th, 1959.
While in the U.S. Army, he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and received the following commendations: Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service in a Combat Zone.
Freddy participated in the Vietnam Military Campaign. Unfortunately, in February of 1968, he was wounded during a combat operation and was retired from the U.S. Army due to his injury.
Freddy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ana Carmen King, and his four sons: Freddy King Jr., Paul (Teresita) King, Luis(Minerva) King, and Charlie(Patricia) King as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Freddy is predeceased by his three sisters; Elva Laserna-King, Ana Rosales-King, and Elisa Davino-King.
