Gene Allen Burget

Gene A. Burget passed away on November 11, 2023, at the age of 84 in Naples, FL. He has gone on to join his wife, Janet C. (Nance) Burget whom he has missed desperately since her passing on July 5, 2020.

Gene was born to Oral and Jeanette Burget, Tipton, IN, on September 28, 1939. Professionally, Gene had a successful career in the automotive industry first with Carburetor Exchange in Indianapolis, IN for 25 years, and then as owner of B & S Distributing in Elkhart, IN eventually retiring in 1998.

His greatest joy was spending time with his three daughters and their spouses: Theresa (Kevin) O’Brien, Kathy (Mike) Schiavone, and Belinda (Ed) Denning as well as his 8 grandchildren: Courtney (Sean) Julien, Kevin Jr. (Katie) O’Brien, Heather (Matt) Hunt, AnnMarie (Jeremy) Rose, Natalie (Kyle) Wolf, Lillie Schiavone, Graham (Madison) Denning, Andrew (Hannah) Denning. In addition, he was fortunate enough to have 10 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Avow Hospice House for their loving and exceptional care in his final days. He will be sadly missed and forever be in our hearts as one tough son of a gun!
