

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Marian (Storter) McRae; his two sons Herbert (Linda) McRae and George D. (Beate) McRae; his baby girl Charity (David) Bertolo; five cherished grandchildren, John (Melanie) McRae, Melinda McRae, Andrea McRae, Ashley Hullette and Heather Hullette; two treasured great-grandchildren Samuel and Marleigh; his loving sister Patricia Wilson, sister-in-law Voncile (Storter) Tomlinson; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, the son of Earl & Luetta McRae; he moved to Naples, Florida after serving in the United States Navy in 1951. That August he met his sweetheart and love of his life, Marian; and they were married 3 months later.
George was an avid fisherman; and spent decades in his father-in-law’s business fishing, shrimping and crabbing (Herbert "Hub" Storter). He served on the Naples City Police Department, and retired from the Collier County Sheriff’s Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Luetta McRae; sisters Luetta, Blanche and Enid; and brothers Johnny, Earl, Robert and Bernard.
George was a member of North Fort Myers Church of God (13761 North Cleveland Avenue, North Fort Myers, FL 33903), the Memorial will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018. Receiving will be at 1:00 p.m. and a Service will be held at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, he requested that donations be made to the North Fort Myers Church of God Building Fund.
His infectious smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
