

James F. Orr, Sr., 85, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away after a long illness on January 13, 2023 at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice, Bonita Springs, FL.
He was born on April 21, 1937 in Mineola, New York, the son of Frederick and Lucy Orr. Jim and his loving wife of 39 years, Lorraine, moved to Fort Myers, FL in 1997 from Westbury, New York. Jim was a long-time employee of the Malvese Companies of Hicksville and Riverhead, NY, starting with them at the age of fifteen. He was the Vice President and Treasurer for more than forty years prior to his retiring.
After he retired, Jim spent his time golfing, reading, enjoying the sunshine and volunteering at Hope Hospice and Make-A-Wish.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, daughter Karen DiRocco of Macungie, PA; daughter Janet Booth of Milford, CT; and son James, Jr. (Andrea) of Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Danielle (Joe) O’Brien of Alburtis, PA; Kevin (Aidan) Fritz of Phoenixville, PA; Thomas (Tierney) Booth of Milford, CT; Jackie DiRocco (fiancé, Steve) of Glenside, PA; Rachel (Eric) D’Errico of Naugatuck, CT and Isabella Orr, of Fort Myers, FL; and three great grandchildren, Colin, Shane and Madden O’Brien. Jim is also survived by his sister, Carol (Robert) Perro of Lakeland, FL; father-in-law, Fred Franza of Naples, FL; sister-in-law Geri (Anthony) Connolly of Naples, FL and brother-in-law Freddie (Nina) Franza of Bohemia, NY and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may gather Friday, January 27, 2023 at 10:00 am at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108. Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108. Interment will be in Naples Memorial Gardens.
