Jeannette Jacqueline (nee Kreush) Bratton, age 81, a 40-year resident of Naples, entered into eternal peace June 9, 2017, at her home, surrounded by family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Raymond and Sarah "Sadie" (Burden) Kreush, the second of nine children, she was raised in Jersey City, NJ. She married the love of her life, a wounded Korean-war Marine, Robert J. "Ratz" Bratton, in 1953 on a reality TV show, Bride and Groom. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Jeannette raised her six children in the Caldwells, NJ, and Naples.
After moving to Naples in 1977, Jeannette and her husband joined the Gulf Coast Sailing Club where they made many friends. She enjoyed her job framing pictures at Gregory Frame Shop and loved gardening. She was especially fond of her orchid collection and served as an "orchid hospital" for plants whose owners didn't have quite the green thumb.
She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Robert "Ratz" Bratton; her brothers, Raymond, Wesley and James Kreush; sisters, Lois Norfolk and Carol "Cookie" Rizzolo; daughter-in-law, Susan Schaetzel Bratton, and grandson, Ryan Bratton. Jeannette is survived by sisters, Wilma Ross, Fran Perrone and Ella Sorino; her children and their spouses, Robert (Suzan) Bratton, John "Jack" (Barbara) Bratton, Laurie (Steve) Miller, Kurt Bratton, Patty Kullen (Jeff Koski) and Dawn Ciciora; as well as eight grandchildren, Heather (James) Longacre, Hillary Bratton, Jason (Tiffani) Bratton, Shaun (Melanie) Bratton, Brianna Miller, Mathew (Morgan) Bratton, Tyler Bratton and Kansas Kullen, and eight great-grandchildren, Holland and Hudson Longacre, Elle and Jonas Bratton, Captain and Sequoia Bratton, and Lucy and Finnley Bratton.
A service is scheduled for Sunday, July 9th, at noon, at Hodges Funeral Home, 111th Ave. N., Naples, with a Celebration of Life at the "Rat House" to follow.
