

Born on December 20, 1942, in Kenmore, New York to the late Raymond and Margaret (Miltner) Bammel. He spent his formative years in Bay City, Michigan. He married his childhood sweetheart Jacqueline on August 22, 1964, in Bay City, Michigan and enjoyed sixty years of loving marriage.
John was a 1966 graduate of GMI where he received his degree in mechanical engineering. He then obtained his MBA at Carnegie Mellon University. Following graduation John dedicated thirty plus years to serving General Motors admirably in multiple executive roles across North America and Europe.
John was an avid boater and after following his retirement he treasured the experience of piloting his boat from Lake Erie in upstate New York all the way through the intercoastal waterway to his retirement residence in Naples, Florida. It was a three-week voyage filled with unforgettable moments that he enjoyed recounting to eager listeners.
John, a skilled craftsman founded a woodworking enterprise that brought him immense joy until physical limitations in his later years curtailed his involvement. He dedicatedly engaged in various charitable causes, notably with the United Way and Home for Habitat. With a zest for life, he found pleasure in exploring different corners of the world. He took most pride spending time with family and friends he loved so much.
John is survived by his wife Jacqueline along with his three children: Michelle, David (Sharon), and Dale (Leianne); four grandchildren children: Olivia, Jack, Siena, and Ty; his beloved siblings: Marcia (Vic) Zammit, Barb (John) Penprase, Bruce (Tamara) Bammel; three sisters-in-laws: Marge Williams, Elaine Embrey, and Serena Bammel; two brothers-in-laws: Larry (Ann) Werner, Don (Susie) Werner.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Robert (Serena) Bammel, Ken Werner; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harold and Dorothy (Lukowski) Werner.
Private family services will be held in Naples, Florida. A Celebration of Life will be held in Bay City, Michigan later this year. Memorial donations can be made to Habitat for Homes, Naples, FL
