

He was born in Troy, NY on June 1, 1941, and was the son of the late Benjamin Marsicano and Elizabeth Loeffler. He graduated from Troy High School and did a post graduate year at Worcester Academy, where he made lifelong friends. He was a US Veteran with the Army, where he was stationed in Germany for many years.
Jerry had a very distinguished career, which included careers in the food service and asphalt materials and road construction industries. His impressive career in the food and manufacturing industry included several years spent at Kraft Foods, then Frosted Foods and Sysco Foods, where he handled sales and marketing. He continued on this path in his career and worked with many others in the food service industry, including King Foods, a meat processing facility, an International Spice Company and Paul Newman. He helped Paul start a brand from the ground up. After spending many years in the Food Industry, Jerry went to work with Sofco, but was ultimately recruited away by his close friend Mark Gorman to join The Gorman Group as a business advisor. His title was Continuous Improvement Advisor.
Jerry was gentleman, a listener, a salesman, a comedian, and a confidant to many. He was loved by many and influenced many lives throughout his own life. He was active in AA and sponsored many individuals in New York and Florida.
He had many friends and loved hockey, boating, skiing and golf. He was an excellent speed skater, hockey player and avid reader. He loved boating so much, he had 5 boats throughout his life, which he named Mars I, II, III, IV, and V. Jerry absolutely loved the water. He worked out regularly and left us all too soon and in a very unexpected manner. He created many memories throughout his life, and he was fond of telling stories to his friends. He also loved his scooters…riding them throughout Saratoga, Palm Beach and Collier Counties.
He is survived and will be missed by his sister Jane Marie Marsicano Smith; his niece, Laura Elizabeth Giraldez; his nephews Michael James Smith, Michael J. Catalfimo and David J. Catalfimo.
He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin Marsicano and Elizabeth Loeffler, his sister Mary Marsicano, his brother-in-law James Smith and his niece Kimberly A. Catalfimo.
Services will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:30 AM with a celebration of life immediately following.
