Lawrence Jackson “Squeeky” Kirkland, 92, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 in Chiefland, FL. Born and raised in Naples, FL, Lawrence was the last remaining offspring of C. Arthur Kirkland, and Susie Averitt Kirkland.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Mae Kirkland; daughter, Sandra Kirkland Kramer of Sunrise, FL; daughter, Jennifer Kirkland and husband, Robert F. Stella of Bluffton, SC; five step-children, Deborah Williams Canady, Diana William Stansell, James Carl Brawner, Jr., Kathryn Brawner Harrison and Kimberly Brawner McCormick; and 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by his brothers, Jasper, Eugene and Doyle and their only sister Myrtle Kirkland Chesser Holland. Lawrence was happiest fishing , hunting and complaining.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Lawrence’s name.
A memorial service will be held at Hodges Naples at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014.
Private burial will be at Kirkland Family Cemetery immediately following the service.
