Dear Shannon and Family
Not enough can be said about the loss of your loved one, Lee.
I did not know Lee much from the job other than forays to his Catholic Assn club in Queens.  But, when I moved to Fort Myers in 1994 and found that he was living in Naples, our friendship flourished.  He taught me how to play golf rather than just hitting balls.  He sponsored me into the Wailers, where I enjoyed golfing for many years until injuries ended my playing days.  My memories also included going to Bucs games in Tampa, eating at Bern's steakhouse in Tampa and watching the offshore boat races at Fort Myers Beach on my boat with Chris.  When I meet him again in Heaven, I hope to rekindle our friendship.

Met Lee on the job many years ago. Great cop who knew how to diffuse a situation with humor and tact. A true gentleman you could count on. A favorite expression of mine is "We Walked With Giants". They are welcoming him in heaven with a beer, smiles, and a roll call with cops who made history. My condolences to the family.

Dear Shannon and Family,  I have great memories of Lee from the job, and the annual re-union.  We shared baseball memories and funny police stories.  He was the first uniformed cop I met after graduating from the academy and then attending the St. Paddy's day parade.  I asked him for directions and he handed me a cold beer.  It was saying "welcome transit".  Enjoy  We both worked in Harlem in District 3 before being assigned to different units.  He always had a big smile and a joke to tell.  He was one of the best cops I knew and ever worked with.  My condolences to you and your family on your loss.  

It is always sad to see a friend go. It is sadder to see someone more like family than friend pass-on. Lee introduced Susan and myself to Naples for which I am forever grateful. I share a picture of our trip to Ireland in 2012. We had a great time golfing, Irish Pub Life, Guinness Stout and Irish Whiskey, and meeting the friendliest people on Earth.

I knew Lee from the job while working Manhattan for a dozen years. A gentleman and gentle man in the true sense of the words. Always happy. If he became angry it lasted only for short time. I wish that I could take away some of the anguish his family and those close to him are feeling. Dear Shannon, Chris and family, Please accept my sincere sympathy and deepest condolences on the loss of Lee. I worked with Lee in the 70’s in District 3, where we worked hard and laughed even harder. He was a good cop and an even better human being. Always enjoyed working with him and also spending  some RDO’s up in his place in the Poconos. Lee would keep you entertained every minute you were there. May he Rest In Peace. Bobby Davan 

I knew and was a friend of lee's for more years than I like to remember. Lee was the funniest guys i ever knew. He was also one of the loyalist. When I ran for the presidency of the PBA Lee was one of my outspoken and loyalist of supporters. Lee loved being a cop and did it well.  While lee served in the New York City Transit Police dept. The subways in NYC were a safer place because of his dedication to service. I will never forget him and will miss him terribly. My prayers go out to his family. Guys like Lee don't pass this way too often!

Dear Shannon & Wilkinson Family
I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. I know it’s hard to go through this pain, but I hope you may find comfort in knowing that God cares about how you feel and that He promises that “there is going to be a resurrection.” (Acts 24:15) (1 Peter 5:7) Won’t that be wonderful to see our loved ones again! I hope this promise brings you comfort as it does me.
Lee was my 1st partner in the NYC Transit Police Dept.  we bonded instantly and became friends for many years. Our children grew up together.  Lee was a good partner and a good cop.  We had many, many good times together and many laughs. He will be missed.  May he "Rest in Peace"
