I just learned today, June 30, that Manny passed. I never had the pleasure of actually meeting Manny though I have waved to him for seven years on daily neighborhood walks and whilst he drove his car. I waved to Rosa, a daughter and most recent his beautiful granddaughter. My memories include watching him meticulously do yard work, gradually paint  exterior of their home and power washing his tile roof barefooted! I was captivated with his gradual progress on that roof and maneuvering the ladder, power washer, hoses and of course so intrigued that he did it barefooted. Now I have read that he was an engineer and soccer player and runner so I better understand him being barefooted. The comments of his life are spectacular and his love of family, friends and work colleagues. I will always remember Manny on the roof tiles confidently power washing. I am reminded that God does wipe our tears. Prayers are abundant for a magnificent man of God’s family. 

I remember Manny would come up every morning and have a "special coffee"  early in the morning. My sister and I would greet him and listen to  his stories about his family, his beautiful wife and daughters and  what his plans were for the weekend and soccer and oh boy, when his granddaughter was on her way....His eyes lit up when he talked about her . He was a joy to be around.

Memories of a beautiful past,  as Manny proposed, and married my beautiful cousin Rosa, became a new member of our family, the father of two beautiful daughters, Manny was loved by all that were lucky enough to know him.

Manny was a kind selfless  gentle soul,  I remember our family gatherings with love,  as we shared  his favorite meals, outings to the beach and his very funny jokes!

May you find comfort in knowing, those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.

Dear Manny, 

You have been a corner stone for Arthrex  for so many years.  Fourteen of those I have known you.  The World and European cups will never be the same, you were always on target with who would advance.  And nothing was more bitter sweet then coming in the next morning having to tell you that you were right.  I will miss those times dearly.  I will miss passing you in the hallway or seeing you in your shop. I will miss your stories and advice. I will miss your friendliness and your willingness to help.  I will miss paying you with chocolates in the hopes you will move my project ahead of others.  I will miss talking about our old cars…  

My condolences to the family.  Manny was a good man and it was an honor to have known him.   He spoke many times of his daughters and his wife with only the up most love in his heart.  Arthrex will never be the same without him, he will be truly missed. 


Manny was one of a kind. For me and our co-workers Manny was the ultimate problem solver and I will remember him as a great friend. Of course he had solutions for thousands of issues for work, but he also was a great resource for issues in life. I loved his perspective on traveling, cultures, family, friends, the Cape and of course soccer. We can still hear him say that he is too busy and it will be early next week, only to find it on your desk the next morning. I remember awesome stories about his MA buddies and the sailboat. I remember the German instrument people trying to poach him after seeing a few prototypes. I remember watching him teach us a few lessons on the soccer field where he was 25 years older than everyone. I remember stories about his daughters and the new grandchild and how you could see his eyes light up when he mentioned them. Manny was a legend here at Arthrex and we appreciate all the time we had with him.

My dear friend Manny,

    One of the greatest accomplishments in a person's life, is the way they are remembered for how they had positively affected others, or have done for others in their lifetime.  You, my Friend, set an example for excellence in what it is to be a beautiful human being.  -  You set the bar for excellence as a great husband, a great father, and one of a kind friend (Amigo, de amigo, always).  I feel very privileged to have had the chance to have crossed paths with you in this life.   Our hearts are heavy and broken, but I will always remember the great memories, the great friend you were to me, and a always being a true Gentleman in every way.

You are all always in my thoughts.  Your husband/dad was such a special gentle soul his passing is a such a sad loss.  He always had a kind demeanor with everyone and always ready to lead a helping hand.  May you all find strength during this difficult time and let all the wonderful memories guide you through them.  Although my heart breaks, I smile thinking of all the wonderful memories that our families have shared together.  Your entire family holds a special place in my heart forever and always.

I want to extend my condolences to the Pereira family.  I have know Manny for as long as I can remember and he has always been so helpful at work when you need a helping hand. We've had some great laughs and have done numerous events together. I will miss our talks about our grandchildren and sharing pictures of how big they get so quickly.  I have lost a good friend and I will miss him dearly.

I want to thank you for giving myself and my family a chance to come to know and love your husband/father MANNY. He was an awesome man and a wonderful grandfather to Adriana. He was kind, gentle and a very good sport he was a wonderful Mickey Mouse at Halloween even though he was so hot in that suit he did it anyways. We had so much fun at our cooking class even thou we didn’t learn anything we already knew. I will miss him very much and so will my family. We will be here for you all. He is in my prays . 

Manny's passing signifies the end of an era for the Product Development Team at Arthrex. His kind demeanor, willingness to help, professionalism, talent, and skillset were greatly appreciated and respected by all who knew and worked with him. May Manny rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in all their wonderful memories of him.

I have known Manny for as long as I have worked at Arthrex. Never a more helpful individual. He used to make prototypes and solve problems when our business was small and needed his expertise. When we weren't talking about prototypes we spoke about our love of running. Manny will be missed but I will always have great memories of working with him and talking running. Great guy. Will be missed
