away on January 11, 2022 surrounded by her family. Marti was born on
December 30, 1953 in Cardenas, Cuba, the first born child to Juan and
Noelia Fernandez. She immigrated with her family to the United States
in July of 1966, proudly becoming an American citizen in 1976. Marti
loved her home country of Cuba but was also a very proud American!
Marti spent most of her professional career in the mortgage business
and the latter part as a real estate agent in Naples. She was
tenacious and unrelenting in her professional career and just as
passionate in her personal life. She poured her heart into her family
and friends and was unwavering in her love for both. If you were lucky
enough to call her a friend, you knew you had someone you could count
on through thick and thin. You had someone to enjoy a laugh with, a
shoulder to cry on, a confidant to confide in, and if need be, someone
to help bury the bodies. She was kind and funny, loving and loyal,
vibrant and strong, and the kind of person that everyone wants on
their side.
Marti made the most of every moment. She loved to dance and never
missed an opportunity to dance like nobody was watching, encouraging
everyone around her to do the same. If you weren’t careful, she would
reach over, pull you to your feet and take you for a spin. If there
was music playing, Marti was dancing. Even through some of the hardest
of times, Marti could be found playing music and dancing through the
halls of the hospital bringing a smile to everyone she encountered.
While friendships, music, and dancing brought a smile to her face, the
greatest joy in Marti’s life was spending time with her children and
grandchildren. Mom, Mamita, Abuela, Smabeula cherished every special
moment with her family, whether it be fishing in the Florida sunshine,
humming along at band concerts, attending karate exhibitions,or
chatting about the day on a drive home from school.
Marti was preceded in death by her father Juan Fernandez and her
previous husbands Bill Hatcher and David Ebersbach. She is survived
by her dear husband Pedro Peralta; her two loving sons Bill Hatcher
(Kaitlyn) and Scott Hatcher (Suzanne); her beloved mother Noelia
Fernandez; her three sisters Teresita Alfonso (Jose), Rosita Stafford
(Michael), and Ana Johnson (Jim); her three brothers Juan Fernandez
(Teresita), Carlos Fernandez (Amy), and Joe Fernandez; her five
cherished grandchildren Trent, Trinity, Will, Mason, and Olivia; and
countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will be receiving visitors on Friday January 14, 2022 at
