

Peyron, MaryMary Michela (Gallucci) Peyron, 86, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Brookfield, Connecticut, passed peacefully with her family at her side on February 23, 2014. Born May 27, 1927 in Danbury, Connecticut Mary graduated from Danbury High School, Saint VIncent's School of Nursing in Bridgeport, Connecticut and Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut. Mary had a celebrated career as a registered nurse with an advanced degree in psychology. She served as Head Nurse on many hospital units in Danbury and Bridgeport including serving as the Head Nurse of two psychiatric units at Danbury Hospital. Mary and her loving husband Bill raised two beautiful children in Brookfield, Connecticut and then moved to Marco Island, Florida in 1989 for some new life adventures. Mary and Bill built a house on the water on Marco Island and enjoyed many days of swimming and sunshine. In 2002 Mary and Bill moved from Marco Island to Naples. Mary continued nursing in Florida working both as a registered nurse and as a nurse educator training certified nursing assistants and licensed practical nurses. Mary also tirelessly volunteered giving flu shots and taking blood pressures throughout her community. For a change of pace, Mary got her realtor's license and dabbled in real estate sales enjoying meeting many new people along the way. In her earlier years, Mary was a varsity athlete in basketball and softball, along with her husband she trained to be a pilot, flying Cessna out of Danbury Airport, and in Florida she passed her Coast Guard auxiliary boating course. Mary was fearless and adventuresome and she loved to travel and enjoy new experiences. Mary was an avid reader and journalist and a technophile forever learning new things about computer programs and technology. Mary was on the Board of the Naples FreeNet where she worked to help fellow technophiles use technology. Most of all, Mary was known as a loving, selfless and generous mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Mary is pre-deceased by her parents Rose and Charles Gallucci and her siblings Gloria, Charles and William. Mary is survived by her loving children William of Fort Myers, Florida and Marie of Cross River, New York, her husband Bill, her son-in-law Ron Crispi, her beautiful grandsons Michael and Matthew (also of Cross River, New York), her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Nancy Gallucci of Danbury, Connecticut and many beautiful nieces and nephews. Mary will be heart achingly missed by all the loved ones she leaves behind. A funeral service will be held at Hodges Funeral Home , 525 111th Avenue North, Naples, Florida, on Tuesday, March 4 at 10:30 a.m. Following the service she will be laid to rest at Naples Memorial Gardens.
