Dear Aunt Mary,
I cant believe that its been two years since you left us. So many things have happened. We added to our family. Alexander was born in July of 2016. Elizabeth is so happy that shes a big sister. She has grown so much. She is six now. You would have loved meeting and squeezing Alex, he and Elizabeth both share the trait of your ears. Marshall and I have been married for over 11 years. We have 5 Kitties .Also Uncle Jimmy is a fantastic Fairy God Father. He can't get enough of Shorty and the Little Dude.
Elizabeth still talks about you all the time, especially your Aunt Mary Shoulders. Elizabeth and Nana tell Alex stories about you, Nanny Dorothy and Grandpa Pat. You live on into the next generation through the stories and pictures we have. We miss you every day. We remember all the good times and share our memories as much as possible.
Until we meet again, many years from now. Our children will know of you and remember the love you shared. We love and miss you always.

 Dear Mary, today on this the 7th day of June we say a special prayer for your birthday. So many happy memories to share with family. Laughing with you is one of the things that I miss. You brought so much joy to our family and those you met along the way. I was talking to Elizabeth she asked if we could sing"Happy Birthday" for you? I said I'm sure you would like that. Dear Mary, as we celebrate Elizabeth's 5th birthday and the birth of Alexander it brings great joy. It was wonderful to see so many of our family and friends there to share the day. An empty chair was left at our table next to Jimmy. It was so hard for him, knowing how much you enjoyed being there for these happy times. I still find myself wanting to call you. Then I realize that I can't. I talk to you everyday. I miss your witty comments.I ask God to help me with this. I miss you so much. Love your sister, Dorothy.

Dear Mary, We love each other for what we share, respect, loyalty, and decency. We grew up thinking blood is thicker than water.  No one knew you better than I.  You once said "The peace I search for I will never find".  Well I hope you have that peace now. I know my journey continues.  We take care of those who loved you. Dear Mary, when the world throws me a curve I think of the times I called you and you could make it better. I try to put on a brave face and participate in life. It's so hard sometimes it all comes down crashing.  I miss our talks. Some things don't change. The people we hoped would change didn't. They are only interested in the material things. I have stepped away from them so as not to continue the cycle. I feel like Dad and Mom's last child, an only child waiting to be with you all again. My journey has been blessed with many wonderful things. A new one is on the way. I'm sad she/he will never feel your wonderful hugs and your soft shoulders. Some days I feel so strong when I have a purpose. I spent the last 13 days with Elizabeth. She kept me focused. It felt good to have a reason to get up and be needed. When she went home I fell apart. She and I talked about the egg maker you gave her last Easter. She remembered putting the cone top on her head and making you laugh. When I was using mine she said "Nana will you put it on your head?" Easter eggs you filled with surprises. We will spend this Easter celebrating the day with Jim. All my love.  Your sister, Dorothy

The days go by so fast. I have things I want to share with you. My first thought is to call you. I had a dream the other night of you. I saw you walking ahead of me. I called to you to wait you turned and smiled. You continued to go on as if to tell me No not yet. When I opened my eyes I realized it was a dream. My heart was pounding so fast I felt as if I was really running to you. For most of the day I cried. When I was on Skype, Elizabeth asked me what was wrong. I said I'm  missing you Elizabeth. She said you miss Aunt Mary. She is so smart. She told me that she wants to have 10 girls some day and all of them will be named Mary. I was going through some packed boxes. I found letters you wrote me when you were in New York. Cards you sent us over the years.The program from the circus. You took me to Madison Square Garden for the first time. When I use the gifts you gave me I remember telling you that it's not my birthday. You said you didn't want to wait for an occasion. Dorothy said it too. I told her Aunt Mary always wanted to make us happy. Jimmy is doing a good job keeping up with things. All of us are taking turns calling him for his evening wake up. Jim and Laura went to lunch. I have been checking on her through Facebook. I thank God for those that have been keeping in touch with us. I miss you Mary. When my journey is over we will be together again. Love, Dorothy

Another month has passed. You have been gone for 68 days. As promised we were together for the holidays.Jimmy was with us for Halloween. We all went around with Elizabeth. Thanksgiving was spent with family. You would be proud of Jimmy he wrapped the gifts himself.We ate your last sauce, meatballs and sausages. As always you outdid yourself. Christmas was made special with the gifts that you and Jimmy had picked out for all of us. Elizabeth had everything Frozen. She was so excited with her gifts. She received the Frozen Ice Castle,the sleigh,dolls,books,ornaments,bears,a bike, a Innotab,clothing,games,toys and the blow ups.I gave Jim the gift you wanted him to have, with the note inside.  We are so thankful we have these wonderful pictures and memories. I miss you so much. I still catch myself wanting to call you to share my day. When I go to the house I give time to your babies. They are all okay. I love you Mary. I know God will protect you and keep you until we meet again. Love, Dorothy

On Monday NCH had a service for Mary. Thank you to those who told stories of how she went above and beyond in her job. I remember her telling me that a fellow employee needed help to secure a place to live. Mary helped her with the deposit.She gave small appliances to another friend.    That was Mary at home as well. She helped all of us at one time or another. As Rev. Harper read Mary's obituary Elizabeth sat next to him. Thank you to all those who attended.

It's almost thanksgiving and I miss you so much. You were always so kind and helpful to everyone around you so in your memory I just want to remind everyone to,
Give thanks for the people in your life. Tell them they are important and that you love and appreciate them everyday. You really never know if it will be the last time you can. Don't wait until it is too late and be left with regret. Care about and  Love the people who matter and always try to get along. Life really is too short to wait till tomorrow. I love you Aunt Mary and Uncle Jimmy. Thank you both for being such wonderful people and for loving us the way you always have.

Mary I can't believe the 1 month anniversary approaches.God has helped me in my darkest hour. Our family has been such a blessing. I will remember the beautiful service. The kind words and stories many people shared. We are about to celebrate Thanksgiving, I will give thanks for having a wonderful sister and friend in my life. I can remember laughing with you. Mary,

I find it difficult to put into words how I feel about your passing. I go about my day at work and helping at home with Dorothy and Elizabeth. I keep myself focused on everything around me. When I have a free moment in my head however I find my thoughts drifting to you. I remember the joy that Elizabeth brought to you. The long conversations you would have with Dorothy and Dorothy. Asking about my day and being genuinely interested in it. You will be missed. It was truly an honor and privilege to know you.

I miss you so very much, I cant believe it has already been almost a month. Elizabeth talks about you everyday. We will miss you dearly this Thanksgiving, it will not be the same without you. I will keep a open chair and you will never be forgotten.

Mary,the days go by and I try to face this truth. Going through the day keeping busy  helps. My mind wanders to days gone by. We always thought we would have time. God does not promise tomorrow. We must live each day to the fullest. You taught me so much. Dad and Mom always said we would take care of each other when were older. I miss you. I'm thankful for my family. So very sorry to hear about Mary's passing. Although it has been a while since we have been together we will remember the good times we shared with the Sutton Family as well as with the Bailey Family. Those days were the good ole days. Love to Jim and Laura at this difficult time.

Thank you to all who attended Mary's  services. The stories that we heard confirmed the impact she had on so many people. The nurses came to say how helpful she was. Judy(Rn) said "Mary my Mary" she couldn't believe it was true. Our family and friends support was amazing. Seeing our cousins and remembering good times was such a blessing. My mom was one of a kind. She was always there for me and never let me down. Im so sad and beyond myself that she is gone. Life is too short and the good ones always go to soon. My mom made sure  everyone around her was always happy and laughing. And I will never forget that. I miss u mom. And I will never forget u. My life will not be the same without u. And one day I will see u again. I will always love u. Thank u for giving me life and paving the way for me. I will be here for my dad which is what u would of wanted from me.

My condolences to the Sutton family.  I never had the opportunity to meet Mary.  I have known Laura for several years through being friends with my daughter.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry for your loss.  I met Mary at the old Wellness Center on Goodlette.  Always very jolly.  Just saw her the week before.  Always a good morning.  She will be remembered.

Mary will be missed by many.  She always had a smile on her face and was always very kind.  She was a very hard and considerate worker.  We shared many stories about our dogs and she always had photos of them to share.  She was a definite asset to NCH and a pleasure to work with.  Condolences to Mary's family.

It's hard for me to find the words that might bring comfort and peace to you at this time of great loss..but perhaps knowing that I am thinking of you all with sympathy and understanding will somehow help to give you strength at this most difficult time. Mary had a most outgoing personality. She always tried to make you feel special, had a hearty laugh that came from deep within and was a caring and hard working lady. Her friendship and New York style will be greatly missed. God speed Mary...you are loved both in heaven and on Earth.

My condolences to the family...Mary was a very nice person. Always came around to talk to Dorothy when we worked together at NCH. Had the pleasure to meet her through her sister and Brother in law Dorothy and Rick.

Mary will be missed by all of us at NCH.  She always had a smile, and was my favorite person in central supply.  We will all miss her dearly.

Mary was a wonderful and kind soul. The entire Critical Care staff was very sadden by her passing. She has always been so sweet to all of us and our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time. Work won't be the same without you Mary. <3

Dorothy And family I am  very sorry for your loss. 
Everytime I would see Mary she always had a smile and we would talk for a little bit. 
Mary was always concerned for anyone that she knew even when we when we weren't close.
When my daughter was in the hospital she would call and see how she was doing.
Please take comfort in knowing she is back with her parents and everyone she loved. 
She will always be looking over the family as another special angel.

To My Aunt Mary, you were more than just my aunt you were also my god mother and my friend. She was such a wonderful person and was always there to help anyone who needed it. She helped us so many times over the years, to say she will be missed is grossly understated. To sister Dorothy what a shock, don't work downtown NCH much anymore but when I did I would see her filling the pixel supply machine always said "hello and how u doing". Sorry to here about it, she will be greatly missed.
