

After graduating from George Washington Carver High School, he served in the Air Force from 1962 – 1965. Shortly thereafter, he married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Nell Richards. To that union, Orsie Anthony Jr and Carla Lavette Anthony were born.
Early on in his life, Orsie did a/c installation work prior to becoming a Firefighter for the city of Naples. He retired after 23 years and then he worked for Collier County Public Schools as a bus driver for several years.
Orsie was involved in community service as a member of the Evening Optimist Club for many years. He was also the treasurer for the American Legion. He had a deep passion for golf and that led to him being one of the founding members of the Six Irons Golf Club.
Orsie was preceded in death by his brothers: Junior C. Reese, Willie S. Anthony, Charlie C. Anthony, Paul E. Anthony, and his sisters, Rosie Mae Perry, Doris A. Cotton and Yvonne A. Fields.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children; Orsie Anthony Jr of Naples, FL and Carla L. Anthony of Ocoee, FL; 1 grandson, Orsie Dreon Anthony and 1 great-grandson, Dreon Shamol Anthony of Naples, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation and service for Orsie will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Hodges Funeral Home At Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida 34108.
There are moments in life when you wish you could bring someone down from heaven. Spend the day with them just one more time, give them one more hug, kiss them goodbye or hear their voice again. One more chance to say I love you.
