Peggy Elaine Marks, 73, of Naples, FL passed into eternal rest on March 1, 2026 at 9:32am while surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was born on May 16, 1952 in Neenah, WI. She endured several complications with a recent heart surgery, but true to her nature, she faced them with grace, resiliency, and a fighting spirit.
She was the heart of our family — a loving wife of 57 years, a devoted mom, and the most encouraging Nana. She had a gift for making everyone feel supported and deeply loved, and she could always make us laugh and smile with her humor and unforgettable facial expressions. She was a fantastic cook, famous for making the best lasagna and for generously sharing treasured family recipes. She would never let you leave her house without leftovers in hand or an extra dessert. She cheered faithfully for the Green Bay Packers and happily added the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to her lineup after moving to Florida. She loved decorating, watching Lifetime movies and home remodeling shows, and shopping for the cutest, most fashionable outfits. She was always dressed from head to toe — stylish shoes, sparkling blue eyes, and perfectly chosen accessories, especially the jewelry she adored so much. Family meant everything to her — her children, grandchildren, her beloved husband, and her sweet dog Nyx. Her love was steady, joyful, and the foundation of us all. We find comfort knowing her love continues beyond this life, and that one day we will be reunited. She leaves behind a family forever bound together by her love — a love that will live on in each of us.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Lois Buss and her daughter Rochelle McCarthy. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James Marks. Her daughters, Jamie (husband Bill) Eskridge and Theresa (husband Aaron) Heirshberg, and her son-in-law, Nick McCarthy. The joy and pride of Peggy’s heart was her eight grandchildren: Chloe, Bailey, and William Eskridge; Azure and Jasper Heirshberg; and Julia, Megan and Joseph McCarthy.
She is also survived by her siblings, Jonathan Buss, Tom Buss, and Carol Steffin; her brothers- and sisters-in-law Scott Marks, Jodi Noffke, Vickie Thomack, Lori Fritz, Dennis Marks, and Linda Maas; and many nieces and nephews.
Her life and memory will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her and each life she touched, resting peacefully in God’s care. And as she would say “love you, kiss kiss”.
