Ramesh T. Pandya (age 79) passed away March 25, 2021 in Naples Florida. His final days were much like the rest of his life as he was surrounded by his family. He was born in Nadiad, India February 7th, 1942 and had been a resident of Florida for over 22 years. He first emigrated from India to America in 1969 after marrying his love Shakuntala and accepting a job in New York City utilizing his masters in chemistry and settled in Dumont, New Jersey to build a better life for his family and pioneered the way for his brothers and sisters to join him (5 brothers: Upendra, Rajendra, Rashmi, Rajni, Jitendra & 3 sisters: Jyotsna, Gita, Nikunjana).
A lifelong devotee of Hindu philosophy and an avid student of Indian history & culture, he searched for deeper meanings in these rich traditions and sought to apply them to modern life. As a Brahmin he even officiated the weddings of his four sons and daughters in law: Vipul (Mamata), Sunil (Jennifer), Parimal (Nicole) and Anil (Arti) who fondly called him Papa.
His heart will live on in his 7 grandchildren (Nikhil, Karishma, Kairavi, Arya, Keya, Aaditya & Aakash) whom he referred to as his “monkeys” and they fondly called him Dada.
He was truly a citizen of the world as he enjoyed traveling both by himself and with family. He spent his retirement living with his sons between their homes in Belleair Beach, Naples, Dallas & Jupiter.
His legacy endures through his family and the many lives he enriched.
Services are scheduled for Saturday April 3, 2020 at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens 525 111th Ave. N Naples, FL 34108.
