Richard Allan Stone

STONE - Richard, (Dick) 86, of Naples, Florida, born to the late Louis and Eleanor Stone (formerly Bornstein), passed away peacefully with family and his beloved dog, Chance, at his side on August 27, 2021 in his home at All Seasons in Naples Florida. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Dick was born and raised in Paterson, New Jersey. Dick held a Bachelor’s Degree from William Paterson College of New Jersey and a Master’s degree in Professional Development from The Teachers College of Columbia University and spent many years as an educator and guidance counselor ultimately working for and retiring as Principal from the Middlesex County Vocational Technical High School in Piscataway New Jersey. Dick proudly served his country as an Army Reservist from 1954 until 1958 when he was honorably discharged.

Jeannine, his wife, who predeceased him in 2019, was the love of his life for 57 years. They retired to Marco Island Florida, ultimately moving to Naples in 2018. He was an avid nature lover, birder and spent many years as a Board Member with Friends of Tigertail Beach, where he and Jeannine co-chaired the Birding Festival Committee.

Dick is survived by his cherished sons, Evan and his wife Lisa, Adam and his wife Geri, his adored grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, Carli, and his beloved dog, Chance.

Due to COVID a private graveside funeral service will be held at Temple Beth El Cemetery. It was Dick’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Humane Society of Collier County Florida or The American Cancer Society of Southwest Florida.
