On May 16, 2014, Thomas E. Straub departed this earth to be with his loving wife, Dorothy M. Straub, in eternal peace. Thomas was born July 24, 1923 in Shelby, OH. He attended Bowling Green University for two years until joining the Army to serve his country during WW II. Thomas served honorably in the military, participating in the African and Italian campaigns. Upon his return home with an honorable discharge after the war, he married Dorothy Mae, his wife of 64 years.
Thomas pursued a career in the appliance business in the Ft. Lauderdale area after relocating there with Dorothy. Upon retirement they moved to the Naples area 25 years ago to live out their final years.
Thomas is survived by his two sons, Gary L. and Curtis L.; daughter-in-law, Jackie L.; grandson, Jason Christopher and his wife, Wendy L.; granddaughters, Elysa Marie Sokd (husband Jeff), and Whitney Ann; great-grandsons, Aiden and Dylan; and great-granddaughters, Madison and Emma.
May Thomas rest in eternal peace alongside his wife, Dorothy, and may God bless their souls in Heaven.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20th at Naples Memorial Gardens.
