
He leaves behind his amazing wife and soul mate of 50 years, Sandra Black Maxwell. He also leaves behind children, Timothy Maxwell Jr and wife Beth, Ryman Maxwell and wife Kathrine and Meredith Milchanoski and husband Gary, in addition he has 7 wonderful grandchildren; Evalyn, Audrey, Lillian and Margaux Maxwell and Theodora, Conrad and Cora Milchanoski.
Timothy was born in 1942 in New Rochelle, NY and moved to NJ at a young age where he graduated from Summit High School in 1960, and went on to Monmouth College, now Monmouth University, and fulfilled his military obligations serving in Army Reserve for 6 years.
He started his professional life at the family restaurant Old York Inn in Raritan, a family owned restaurant and favorite gathering spot for many. Once he met his loving wife they moved to Whitehouse to continue his love of food and wine at the Ryland Inn. It was there he discovered his passion of wine. He continued his study of wine at Waldorf Astoria Wines of the World, followed by the Graduate Course Le Program Grand Des Vins in 1975. Along the way, Tim was a founding member of the Hunterdon Princeton Bailliage of the Chaine des Rotisseurs and awarded Ordre De Mondal for his knowledge and expertises of wine. Tim was also a member of the Sommelier Society of America and was inducted in to Confer du Sabre D’or. Tim then went to finish his career in the wine industry at Lauber Imports, Inc. in Somerville NJ. Retiring in 2007.
He also leaves behind three life long friends and tennis partners from the class of 1960 of Summit High School, Wally Peterson, Doug Richardson, and Bjorn Swanstorm and their wives. They became known to Tim’s children growing up as the Gruesome Foursome. Tim is predeceased by his parents, Brandon and Constance Maxwell, his 2 brothers, Donald Maxwell Sr and Brandon Maxwell Jr, his sister Constance John, granddaughter Vivian Helene Maxwell, his niece Mary Maxwell and nephew Donald Maxwell Jr.
Internment is private, in leu of flowers make a donation to a charity of your choice. A celebration of Tim’s life is planned this spring in New Jersey.
