Walter Charles Hultman, 98, passed away at his home on July 10th, 2025, after a short illness. He was born on September 16th, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY to parents Eleanor Engreen and Herbert Andrew Hultman.
Wally received his B.S. and M.B.A. from New York University and served with the Navy in W.W. II.
In 1950, Wally married the love of his life, Dorothy Conlin, and soon thereafter moved to Louisville, KY, where they raised their four daughters. While in Louisville, he began a distinguished career with General Electric for 25 years primarily as President of Marketing for Major Appliances. He was also an active member of Christ Church United Methodist where he served as President of the Church Council for many years.
In 1991, Wally and Dorothy began the next chapter of their life in Naples, FL where Wally continued marketing consulting. They were very involved with their church and made lifelong friends in their much-loved San Marino Community.
Always positive and forward thinking, he offered grounded advice to those who asked, and those who didn’t, and was eternally optimistic. His sage council was sought and appreciated by his children and grandchildren, always stressing the importance of hard work and making good choices.
He was a voracious and passionate reader, becoming an expert on George Washington, Winston Churchill, W.W. II and the Brooklyn Dodgers. As a lifelong University of Louisville Basketball fan, he found great happiness in every win.
In addition to his parents and brother Jack, Wally was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years Dorothy Hultman.
Wally loved and was extremely proud of his four daughters: Kathie H. Liebert, Betsy H. Wall (Harry), Susan H. Sanders (Scott) and Lisa Hultman, his nine grandchildren: Callie Wall Crockett (Henry), Hank Wall ( Ellen), Andrew Liebert, Kathryn Liebert, Christopher Sanders (Jessie), Sarah Jane Sanders, Bill Rector, Sam Rector (Ali), and John Rector and four great grandchildren: Thomas Wall, Aggie Wall, Addison Sanders and Hank Crockett.
His family would like to thank all the many nieces and nephews, especially Lance and Rose Horn, the very special “cul-de-sac” friends from San Marino, and his loyal and devoted friend Scott Boyd.
The family also wishes to thank the New Canaan Society and the Pelican Bay Men’s Coffee, two outstanding organizations that offered important friendship and gave great meaning to his life.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th at 2:30pm with a visitation before the service beginning at 1:30pm at North Naples Church Chapel 6000 Goodlette-Frank Rd N Naples, FL 34109.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AVOW-Hospice and Bereavement 1095 Whippoorwill Lane Naples, FL 34105.
