Zaki Abdun-Nabi of Naples, FL, and previous long-term Boston area resident, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2024 at the age of 98 with family and caregivers providing love and support. Zaki was the cherished husband of Marguerite, to whom he was married for over 70 years.
Zaki had an accomplished and fulfilling life, beginning with his childhood in Mosul, Iraq, then emigrating to Turkey and the United States, where he earned his Masters in Electrical Engineering. Zaki then began a multi-decade career as a successful serial entrepreneur, co-founding Janus Control, DBX and Kintek, all of which brought innovative technology to the forefront.
Zaki held a life-passion for design and build in a variety of areas. He held multiple patents for electronic equipment sold round the world, was the architect and builder of his family’s home and spent countless hours restoring antique clocks and intricate watches. There was virtually nothing that Zaki could not fix.
In addition to his wife, Marguerite, Zaki is survived by his children Daniel Abdun-Nabi and his wife Lisa, and Joyce Wolfson and her husband Sam. Zaki treasured and loved his grandchildren Alexander and Austin Abdun-Nabi, and Joshua, Benjamin, and Nicole Wolfson, as well as numerous siblings, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Nina Abdun-Nabi.

A graveside service for Zaki will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Hodges Funeral Home At Naples Memorial Gardens, 525 111th Ave N, Naples, Florida 34108.
